Volunteers

 

 

 

Any person wishing to help at out in their child’s or grandchild’s classroom or school, attend a field trip, chaperon a school event, or assist with school sports is considered a school volunteer and must complete the following steps:

 

If you are a first time volunteer:

 

a.       Fill out an online application at www.globeschools.org under “Employment Opportunities” and select the 'Apply Online' button.  On the left hand side of the new page, you will see a list categories for district positions.  Click on the 'Volunteers' option and when the next new window opens, choose the option for the site you wish to volunteer.  You will then be prompted to start the online application process.

b.      Upload a copy of your driver’s license and social security card for background check.  If you are unable to scan these copies yourself, you may bring them in to the district office for verification.

c.       Background checks can take up to 72 hours for results to be returned.  If your background check comes back clear, you will then need to come to the District Office for fingerprinting. The fingerprint process is free of charge for our volunteer applicants. 

d.      You will have to wait until fingerprint results come back before you can start volunteering. Fingerprint results can take up to approximately 4 weeks to be returned  especially at the beginning of the school year.

 

If you are a continuing volunteer:

 

a.       Fill out an online application at www.globeschools.org under “Employment Opportunities” and select the 'Apply Online' button.  On the left hand side of the new page, you will see a list categories for district positions.  Click on the 'Volunteers' option and when the next new window opens, choose the option for the site you wish to volunteer.  You will then be prompted to start the online application process.

b.      Previous fingerprints are good for two years and background checks are good for three years.

c.       You will have to wait until fingerprint or background results come back before you can start volunteering. Background checks can take up to 72 hours for results to be returned. While fingerprint results can take up to approximately 4 weeks to be returned especially at the beginning of the school year.

*The following is not an option and is govern by State Statute and Board Policy:*

 

If you plan on using volunteers in your classroom, on field trips, for sports events, or any event that involves students, you must have them apply online and have them come to the District Office for fingerprinting and background check as they cannot start or participate  until we receive both back which can take up to two month. 

 

A list of approved volunteers will be emailed the day after each Board meeting.

 

IJOC-School Volunteers, all volunteers that are presented to the Governing Board must undergo a background and fingerprint investigation.
